ReplyDeletePiggy’s glasses: Piggy is innocent boy like the others. His point of view is different from the others.His glasses indicates Piggy seeing the world different from others.
The İsland : it represents inordered life
The Beast : There is no beast actually only beast is their fears
Lord Of the flies: it represents God
The signal Fire : signal fire shows children’s hope about rescue
The Sand Castles: it shows us they miss their ordered life and home
Littluns: it represents middle class

ReplyDeleteOkay guys. I am back again. Now i want to share some symbolic meanings with you. This is a symbolic type book like "Animal Farm". For example, the conch shell represents the democracy and Piggy's glasses represents a different point of view. The beast represents human fear because normally there is no beast but the fears create it. The island represents unwanted or inordered life. Lord of the Flies represents god and Simon represents Jesus. The fire that they have been keeping in the story represents their hopes. If the fire isn't alive that means there is no hope for them. The Littluns represents middle class. They cannot be a leader. Ralph's behaviour represents logic and intelligence. Piggy represents wisdom and Jack represents violence, the evil. That's it. Hell Yeah.

Simon- simon is in Jesus role in the novel. He is always helpful, trustworker and peaceful.

*Simon : Symbol of Jesus because he talked with lord of the flies.
*Jack’s behavior : Anarchy, savagery, ferocity, brutality. He is jealous of Ralph
*Ralph’s behavior : Maturity, logic. He is more mature than the others
*Piggy’s behaviour : Symbol of Wisdom. He is silent and cold bloded, intelligence.
-The conch shell: is an important item in the novel it represents democracy.
ReplyDelete-Piggy's glasses: it is the only item that burn the fire and piggy can’t see without his glasses .
-The island: is a place that without rules and without parents this is good for some of the childrens but Ralph don’t want a place like this .
-Lord of the flies: is the power in the island the GOD.
-The beast: is reflecting the fear in the island .
-The signal fire: is one of the important thing in the island it means thir hopes and thir dreams.
-Jack: is a very anarchist children he is not mature .
-Ralph: is a very mature children very pointment leader.
In the novel there are lots of symbols from our lifes. One of them is the conch shell .It represents the order life and democracy.Life without orders symbolizes the island.

THE CONCH SHELL: It symbolizes ordered life and democracy. We see it has a very big importance at the beginning but Jack’s anarchist system lowered its importance in the tribe.
ReplyDeletePİGGY'S GLASSES: Piggy’s glasses represents Piggy's view of life. Moreover it become a big necessity to make fire. About his view of life he cannot see anything without his glasses. So it shows us his view of life.
THE ISLAND: The island represents inordered life. Children move free on the island and they do everything without their familys directions.
THE BEAST: The beast symbolizes fears and scares. Everybody got scared of it. There is no beast on the island but children dream it. So it performs us the beast is not a real and valid beast.
LORD OF THE FLIES: Lord of the Flies symbolizes God. It has got a mystical style.
THE SİGNAL FIRE: The signal fire symbolizes hopes to get rescued.
THE SAND CASTLES: The sandcastles represents ordered life moreover it shows their miss to homes. They are 8-15 years old children and they are very far to their houses. So it makes them miss their houses.
LITTLUNS: It symbolizes middle classed peole and it shows innocence. They are the classic folk in the society.
SIMON: Simon symbolizes Jesus. He is totally in peace with nature. He has some secret movements like going out in midnight. So it shows us his good faith.
JACK'S BEHAVIOUR: Jack’s behaviours shows us anarchy, savagery, ferocity and brutality( pig kill). He likes killing animals and he always use violence as a solution.
RALPH'S BEHAVIOUR: Ralph’s behaviours shows us maturity and logic. He is a balanced leader. He knows what to do in which situations.
PIGGY'S BEHAVIOUR: It shows us wisdom and intelligence. He has great ideas but he cannot makes it real because nobody cares him. Because he is from low leveled society.
The conch shell = It is represents democracy and they lost order life and they want to get back. But end of the novel there is no democracy.

The Island=Their life without order in the Island and they face nature. It means they can see the real wild world on the Island
The Beast= They are afraid from beast and beast represents their fears because they think beast will come and kill them
Lord Of The Flies = It’s represents God. It’s like God of the Island. Lord of the flies can talk.
The Signal Fire= It represents their hopes because they can rescue from Island with this signal. If one ship see the fire they think ’They can rescue’.
The Sand Castles= It’s represents ordered life and their home. They wanted to feel that they are at home.
Littluns=First; They represents innocence, They are from middle class people.At the end of the novel they lose their innocent.Because they changed.
Simon=Simon represents Jesus ,He is mysterious ,He can do extraordinary things.He is very strange but he is very helpful.
Jack's behaviour= Jack seeks anarchizm, Jack is very ambitious and it’s unnecessary, his behavior is savagery and he is not mature.
Ralph's behaviour=He wants democracy ,he is intelligence, he always do useful things and he is very friendly.He wants to help people but no one understand this.
Piggy's behaviour= Represents visdom , He wants to help people but no one cares him.He is not active.
The coch shell: It is really important symbol in the novel. It represents democracy and order life.

Lord of the flies: It represents God. Because of” Lord of the Flies” Simon learned that there is no beast in island.
The signal fire: Children hope that someone will come an island and help them. Because of it children try to light fire, so the signal fire represents their hopes.

Littluns: It represents innocence, middle class. Jack always exploit littluns because he thinks that littluns are defenseless.
Simon: He is a mysterious boy. He represents Jesus.
Jack’s behavior: It symbolize violence, anarchism.
Ralph’s behavior: It represents maturity. He always ties to help people.
Piggy’s behavior: It shows us intelligence, wisdom.
The Conch Shell – It indicates democracy and order life. They use conch shell for speaking right and calling others for a meeting.

The Island – It indicates life without order. They have no rules and everyone is more free than their normal life, because they don’t have their parents in island.
Piggy’s Glasses – It symbolizes Piggy’s view of the world different from other children. He has glasses and when he wear them, he can see the real world better.
The Signal Fire – It indicates the hopes of children for rescue. He light a fire up to the mountain for make themselves appeared to the ships or helcopters coming next to island.
Lord Of The Flies – It symbolizes God. Simon symbolizes Jesus and only he goes to speak with Lord Of The Flies. He has the communication with God.
Littluns – They indicate weak people in society and innocence. They need help from others because they are not strong and don’t have enough conditions.
The Sand Castles – They symbolize home and ordered life. The littluns make them because they miss their order life and others destroy it. The others don’t want the rules and democracy.
Simon- He indicates Jesus. We understand it from his death and behaviours. He tries to inform good things to the others.
Jack’s behaviour- They symbolize anarchizm, violence and jealousy. He behaves like evil and he’s wild.
Piggy’s bevaiour- They indicate intelligence, poverty and wisdom. He always suggest something good for their organisation.
Ralph’s behaviour- They symbolize maturity, logic and mental cofidence. He’s the leader of the children and he always think optimistic.
William Golding used lots of symbols in the book.These are “the conch shell ,piggy’s glasses, the island, the beast, lord of the flies, the signal fire, the sand castles, littluns, simon, jack’s behavior, Ralph’s behavior”. The conch shell represents democracy, piggy’s glasses means the point of view and it’s a serviceable tool.The island represents the life and the cruel world and inordered world. The beast represents fears and psychological problems.Lord of the flies means the god in the island. The Signal Fire is their rescue plan and their hopes to rescue from oblivion. The sand castles means houses –home. Littluns represents the middle classed ,standart people. Simon is the jesus ,religion and belief.Ralph’s behavior means democracy and the power.Jack’s behavior represents anarchy and violence.
